The ÀÇÓѸó (WHCCD) is pleased to announce the selection of its new Chancellor, Dr. Robert Pimentel, who will succeed Dr. Kristin Clark upon her retirement at the end of July. Dr. Clark served at West Hills as the ÀÇÓѸó president for five and a half years and the past three as the District's Chancellor, guiding the district through significant growth and development.
Dr. Pimentel brings a wealth of experience in higher education and a deep commitment to student success. With an impressive academic leadership and community engagement background, he is poised to lead WHCCD into a new era of excellence and innovation. A valley native, Dr. Robert Pimentel has dedicated his entire career to serving the Central Valley community. For the past two years, he has been the President of Fresno City College, the largest community college in the region. Before this role, he served as the same institution's Vice President of Educational Services and Institutional Effectiveness. Before joining Fresno City College, Dr. Pimentel spent nearly 18 years with the ÀÇÓѸó, working in various capacities at both campuses and the district office.
"We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Pimentel as our new Chancellor," said Mark McKean, the WHCCD Board of Trustees President. "His vision for the future of our district, coupled with his commitment to the Central Valley, will ensure that West Hills continues to thrive and provide exceptional opportunities for our students."
Dr. Clark's tenure has been marked by significant achievements, including expanding educational programs, increased enrollment, and enhanced community partnerships. Her leadership has set a strong foundation for Dr. Pimentel to build upon.
"I am honored to join the ÀÇÓѸó and look forward to
working with the dedicated faculty, staff, and community to continue advancing our
mission of providing outstanding educational opportunities," said Pimentel. "Together,
we will strive to create an inclusive and innovative environment that empowers our
students to achieve their academic and career goals."
Dr. Pimentel will officially assume the role of Chancellor on August 1, bringing a dynamic and forward-thinking approach to the district's future initiatives.
